- We do not sell or rent your information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
- Only McPhillips staff who need your information can see it.
- We never see or store your password, and we don't take card numbers on this site.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and you can leave the email list at any time.
This policy is from McPhillips Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning Company, doing business as McPhillips Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning ("McPhillips", "we", "us"). It covers mcp1907.com and the customer records we keep to run our service.
What we collect
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, phone number, email, service address and a description of the problem | You send a service request or call the office | To contact you, schedule the visit and prepare for the job |
| Photos you choose to attach | You send a service request | To send the right technician and parts |
| Your equipment, type of property and preferred dates | You schedule maintenance | To plan the visit |
| Your email address | You sign up for offers | To send you specials and seasonal offers |
| Your customer record: names and phone numbers of the contacts on the account, service addresses, account number, job history and our staff's notes | You become a customer, whether online, by phone or in person | To serve you, keep a history of the work, and bill you |
| Sign-in details: your email, a scrambled form of your password, when you signed in, and how you asked to be reached | You create a customer account | To let you in and keep others out |
| Technical details: your internet address, kept for up to an hour | Every visit | To limit abuse of our forms and sign-in |
| Visit counts: which page was opened and roughly how you found us, such as a search engine. No name or internet address is kept with these. | Every visit, once a day per browser | To see how many people use the site |
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send us, card numbers, Social Security numbers or other sensitive details through a form.
How we use it
- To answer requests, schedule visits and do the work.
- To tell our technicians, and any subcontractor on your job, where to go, who to ask for and what the problem is.
- To send invoices, take payments and keep our books.
- To send offers, only if you signed up for them.
- To keep the site and customer accounts secure, and to fix problems.
- To meet legal, tax and licensing requirements.
We don't use your information to build advertising profiles, and no automated system makes decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with:
- Our own staff and technicians, who see what they need for their work.
- Subcontractors on your job, who get the job details needed to do it: name, address, phone number and the work to be done.
- Companies that run services for us: Cloudflare, which hosts the website and its database, and Google, whose email and spreadsheets our office uses for requests and scheduling. They may use your information only to provide that service to us. When you set a password, a small scrambled piece of it (never the password itself) is checked against a public list of passwords known from data leaks.
- Authorities or courts, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
- A buyer of the business, if McPhillips is ever sold or merged, under the same promises made here.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising cookies, and no outside analytics or social media trackers are on the site.
The site stores a few small items in your browser so that it works properly:
- a note that today's visit has already been counted, so you are counted once a day;
- which menu items to show;
- for customers and staff who sign in, a key that keeps you signed in on that device, and for customers, your contact details so our forms can be filled in for you.
None of these follow you to other websites. You can clear them at any time in your browser's settings.

How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| A website request that doesn't become a job | 180 days |
| Photos sent with a request | 180 days |
| Your customer record and job history | While you are a customer, and 7 years after your last job |
| Your account sign-in | Until you or we close the account |
| Your address on the offers list | Until you unsubscribe |
| Internet addresses used to limit abuse | Up to one hour |
| Anonymous visit counts | About two years |
| Backup copies of the schedule | 60 days |
When the time is up, we delete the information or strip it of anything that identifies you.
How we protect it
- The whole site uses an encrypted connection.
- Customer information sits behind a staff sign-in. Each staff login has a role that limits what it can see and change, and changes are logged.
- A customer account can only ever open its own record.
- Passwords are stored only in a scrambled form that can't be read back, by us or anyone else.
- Repeated wrong sign-in attempts are blocked.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security problem ever affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your choices
- See or correct your information. Ask us, or look in your account if you have one.
- Delete your information. Ask us and we will erase what we are not required to keep for legal, tax, warranty or safety reasons, and tell you what we kept and why.
- Stop offer emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any offer email, or tell us.
- Close your account. Contact us at any time.
Choose how we reach you. In your account you can pick email, text messages, or both for visit and invoice notices, and change it at any time. We keep a record of when you chose texts. We never share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing.
We will answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm it is really you before acting on a request. You have these choices wherever you live.
Children
The site is for adults arranging service for a home or business. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, and accounts are for people 18 and over. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and its date. For changes that matter, we will also tell account holders and people on our email list before the change takes effect.
